A certificate of insurance looks routine until you watch a team process one. A request lands by email or portal: a mover needs a certificate naming the building owner before the crew can start, a contractor needs limits shown exactly the way the contract demands. Someone triages it to the right queue, looks the client up in the AMS, keys the details into the cert system, generates the PDF, and sends it out.
The volume alone would be manageable if the stakes were low. Every certificate is a representation of coverage, and one that overstates a limit or names the wrong holder is E&O exposure. Certificate operations is a volume problem with a liability tail.
Teams absorb this with people: large service teams working around the clock, months of training before a new operator works alone, overtime when month start hits, and audits that sample certificates after they have already shipped. Workflow tools have made the queue tidier, but a tidier queue still needs people to work it.
Certificates, end to end
Pace agents issue certificates end to end. The moment a request lands, the agent identifies the client, the holder, and the coverage asked, and routes it by priority. Each request is checked against actual policy terms, holder templates, and state issuance rules, not a generic template. The certificate is then sent to the holder and filed to the account in your AMS, with a complete record of the source documents, checks, and approvals behind it. The agent escalates anything non-standard, like special wording or a limit the policy does not support, before the certificate goes out.
See it work
With Pace, you can set up a COI agent using the same SOP you would hand a new team member. Within minutes, Tempo, our agent builder, creates a production-ready agent personalized to your issuance rules, your holder templates, and your clients' custom instructions. There is no months-long training curve: the agent handles routine certificates immediately and routes the judgment calls to your senior people.
What makes this different
Pace agents do not trade speed for accuracy. On live accounts, our agents issue certificates more accurately than trained operators, and every certificate is checked against the policy rather than sampled after delivery. Volume stops being a staffing question too: when requests spike or arrive after hours, the agent scales with the queue, with no overtime, no stacked shifts, and no missed SLAs.
The platform also expands beyond certificates. We empower teams to build agents for any insurance workflow, which means the system that issues your certificates today can take on the next workflow tomorrow.
